Current missions
Connecting veterans
We’re advocating for creation of an information hub to serve veterans and have initiated an effort to realize that goal. It will serve as a single global resource for best practices and lessons learned to support veterans on everything from job training and legal services to housing assistance, rehabilitation, family support and more. Mission objectives include:
Create a data base of those doing things well.
Facilitate exchange between those who “know” and those who “need.”
Engage national veteran centers/offices and recognized veteran support NGOs.
Building resilience
Veterans represent a valuable human resource for the prosperity of families, communities and nations. Imbued with a sense of service, built on the camaraderie of military duties, those who have served can transition their leadership, skills, and abilities to other contributions following the end of service, whether planned or cut short by unforeseen circumstances. Our experience tells us that veterans want a hand up not a handout. They are an untapped potential that will gladly continue to contribute.
Creating a wounded care network
Inspired by services provided by the US Department of Veterans Affairs and myriad charities supporting veterans, VCI seeks to build knowledge bridges that address physical and mental traumas. Mission objectives are to:
Share information on holistic medical treatments
Exchange best practices and lessons learned
Promote worthy poly-trauma projects in Europe
Assist fundraising for a pan-European poly-trauma center
Supporting Ukraine
The eyes of the world are on the situation in Ukraine and this is a true measure of VCI’s commitment shown in our motto. Nations are stepping up to provide support demonstrating a commitment to “We fight together,” with economic, military and volunteer support.
VCI is developing the veteran-to-veteran links to support the acute needs of Ukraine and the mental and physical recovery of soldiers and families. These human resources will be engines of recovery and growth after the fight. Together, our actions should operationalize motto part two, “We heal together.”
Veterans serve proudly when called to NATO and coalition service. Our nations have a moral duty to support them when they return home. We exist to unlock the full potential of those who served and ensure their continued contribution to society.
