February
We supported HRH Princess Marie’s visit to Haley Veterans Hospital & SOCOM Commander dinner in Tampa. At the Italian Embassy in DC, we hosted HRH lunch forum with Ukrainian wounded soldiers.
March
Board Member, Jacob Panton visited Ukraine and VCI leaders were invited guests at an EOD lunch gala as well as the TAPS annual gala in DC.
April
VCI and TAPS brought wounded warriors and families to a Wizards Basketball game in DC . VCI was present at the SOCOM Care Conference in Tampa. HRH Princess Marie visited with Ukrainian soldiers obtaining prosthetics in Maryland. VCI met with officials at NATO in Brussels, Kiev and Warsaw. Finally, VCI attended a fundraiser at NASA in Houston.
May
We made wreaths with survivor children at TAPS annual National Military Survivor Good Grief Camp. In Brussels, VCI attended a Ukraine Hub event. HRH Princess Marie of Denmark was a special guest at the Military Women’s Memorial mental-health veteran brain injury seminar in DC.
June
VCI leaders along with a 35-person Danish delegation attended USO’s Warrior Week for soldiers and families at Virginia Beach. VCI saluted veterans at the Danish Embassy on Constitution Day. VCI was present at a US-Ukraine conference in Arlington.
July
Alongside the NATO summit in DC, VCI hosted its largest event, A Salute to Bravery, with a ceremony at sea with representatives from 30+ countries, veterans and their families. Later at NATO Day at Nationals Stadium, VCI was among 6 NGOs selected to be on field for the Secretary General’s “first pitch.” Other events included panels at the Military Women’s Memorial and TAPS.
August
VCI was honored to attend Denmark’s Warrior Week with 65 Danish, American and Ukraine wounded warriors.
September
Special Adviser, Sam Hartwell transported VCI aid from Finland to Ukraine. VCI’s EJ Herold was a panelist on the People for Ukraine’s US-Ukraine Veteran Exchange/ PTSD Program in DC. We also launched VCI ‘s speciality crafted spirits with a reception at the at the Danish Embassy in DC.
October
VCI’s EJ Herold visited Poland’s Veteran Center and then traveled to Ukraine. He later met with representatives from the UK government and NGOs in London. Board Member, Jacob Panton attended the Boulder Crest camp in Virginia.
November
Board Member, Jacob Panton visited Ukraine. VCI co-hosted a fundraising golf tournament and gala with the Special Operations Warrior Golf Foundation. VCI supported the Allied Forces Foundation Yomp in greater DC.
December
Board members gathered for the annual meeting.
January
VCI co-hosted a Salute to Allied Veterans reception with TRH Danish Princess Marie and Prince Joachim and Danish AMB Sorensen in DC. We supported the wheel chair veteran journey with Italian partners, sailing the open sea in Florida.
